What is it like being mentored?
What is a mentor?
How does Mentoring Work?
If you have been referred to our mentoring service, you will be visited by our Mentor Coordinatior who will talk to you and your parent/carer about the service and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions you might have about how it works.
You will then be matched with a suitable mentor.
We’re sorry, but we’re not able to accept self-referrals.
You will have your mentor for at least 12 months, and they will meet with you for around 2 hours, usually each week. It’s important to meet with your mentor regularly as this will give you both the chance to get to know eachother and build trust.
You might do the following activities with your mentor:
– Go to a cafe
– Visit a community centre
– Play sports (like football, pool or table tennis)
– Craft activities
